Jan
Mellor is a knowledgeable and enthusiastic advocate
of the not for profit sector and is passionate in her belief that
good management is what makes the difference between organisations
that deliver and those that don’t.
Jan brings to her work a practical approach that recognises the
real world that people are working yet at the same time ensures
that the client stays at the centre of an organisation’s thinking.
Her background as a lone worker on a project and as Director of
a medium sized national voluntary organisation provided solid experience
on which to build her work as a trainer and consultant.
Her specialisms include governance, management development, interim
management and project management.
Alan Lawrie
has worked as a full time independent consultant for fourteen years.
Before moving into consultancy he worked as a development worker,
trainer and manager in the voluntary sector and then moved into
management roles in the public sector. He is an approved consultant
with the National Council for Voluntary Organisations having passed
through its client based quality assurance procedure on five occasions.
He has
had published the following books and publications; Managing quality
of service (1984), The complete guide to business and strategic
planning (1988), Managing contracts (1988), Creating and managing
new projects (1999) and Developing your organisation (2001).
His main
