Often it is useful to bring an external facilitator to plan, run and lead key meetings. The external person can bring a different and independent perspective and help to ensure that the session is productive and creative.

Mellor Lawrie can help organisations plan and run critical meetings and events. By focusing on identifying the key issues, developing a process that is both participative and efficient and making sure that clear and decisive conclusions are reached.

Recent assignments have included:

• Designing and running away days involving staff, trustees and volunteers to review progress, discuss future options and develop an outline strategy for an organisation’s next business plan.

• Working with a partnership of different organisations to identify a shared purpose, agree priorities and clarify how the partnership is intended to operate.

• Leading an event of trustees and management team of an organisation to resolve some internal difficulties, develop a management action plan and agree mutual expectations.
